ASTM B406 Test Fixture - Transverse Rupture Strength of Cemented Carbides Test Fixture
The fixture meets ASTM B406 requirements. Used to test the transverse rupture strength of cemented carbides.
This test fixture is secured between two compression plates within a tensile testing machine. Carbide support cylinders are then positioned into the fixture. The sample itself is carefully placed onto these supports. Finally, a plunger is steadily lowered onto the specimen until it breaks. Compression plates are also required for this test.
