ASTM C158 Test Fixture
Strength of Glass by Flexure (Determination of Modulus of Rupture)
Application:
The ASTM C158 standard outlines two different methods to calculate the tensile strength of glass and ceramics used in construction. Both methods measure the maximum load a sample can withstand before breaking, known as the modulus of rupture. Method A is used for flat glass, while Method B compares the modulus of rupture of samples with rectangular or elliptical shapes.
It's essential to review the entire ASTM C158 specification before conducting the tests.
Technical Specifications:
Distance between upper formers: max. 120 mm, adjustable
Distance between lower supports: max 300 mm, adjustable
