ASTM D695 Fig. 4 Compression Test Fixture
Compression Testing for Rigid Plastics
Compressive strength and compressive modulus of plastic or composite specimens, according to ASTM D695-Fig.4
Compressive strength and modulus of plastic or composite specimens can be determined by measuring using the COMPRESSION TEST FIXTURE per ASTM D695-Fig.4, ASTM D3846, EN 2850, ISO 14126-Fig.C2, GOST 9550-81, and SACMA-SRM1. There is one carrier and one pair of inserts in the scope of supply. All standard inserts are compatible with the carrier.
Principle of Operation:
Compression Fixture to test compressive properties of rigid plastics according to ASTM D695 (Fig. 4). The compression fixture is placed between two compression platens in a testing machine.
For samples with a thickness more than 3.2 mm, the fixture shown in ASTM D695 Fig. 2 should be used. For thinner samples you should use the fixture ASTM D695 fig 4.
Technical Specifications:
Max. Load: 100 kN
Material: Steel, nickel-plated. Inserts hardened.
Temperature range: -70…+280°C
Scope of supply: 1 fixture. Required a pair of compression plates
