DIN EN ISO 7438 Bend Test Fixture
Metallic Materials - Bend
This procedure aims to identify flaws within welded connections and measure their capacity for plastic deformation (ductility). It's used on both plain and coated butt welds. The specific technique may be adjusted for materials exhibiting varying mechanical behaviors. During the test, a welded specimen is subjected to bending in a single direction, inducing permanent deformation. Any imperfections present will become visible on the surface experiencing tensile forces, and the structural integrity of the welded region is subsequently evaluated based on these observations.
