Raagen's experienced engineers can design systems where you can perform fatigue tests on the steering wheel precisely and reliably.
In steering wheel fatigue tests, the center of the wheel is fastened and the outer rim is loaded in axial and tangential directions. Permanent deformation, crack or damage of the steering wheel is analyzed as a result of the test.
Raagen servo-pneumatic actuators or servo hydraulic actuators could be used in steering wheel test systems depending on the test to be performed.
To measure the permanent deformation of the steering wheel under load, the position of a point before and after the load is applied is measured.
Thanks to the German origin DOLI software we use in all our systems, the following measurements can be made:
- Changing the position where the load is applied without turning on the steering wheel
- Ability to measure multiple loads and deformations without dismantling parts
- Ability to automatically detect steering wheel deformation
- Full compliance with the set values
- Perfect independent staging of actuators
Our systems also have a multi-actuator feature. In this way, more than one load can be applied to the sample. These systems have one torsional actuator and multiple linear actuators. In this way, you can perform both torsional stress and bending tests with the same system.
In systems where linear actuators are used, it is also possible to perform torsion tests with special torsion drives.
