Raagen Rotating Bending Fatigue Testing Machines are intended to determine the fatigue strength (according to DIN 50113, ASTM F1160, EN 13261 and ISO 1143) in rotational bending fatigue tests of metallic or non-metallic materials. The preparation of the Wöhler diagram, the comparison of the fatigue strength of different types of materials in this diagram, the effects of important parameters on fatigue strength such as notch effect and surface roughness are the basic principles of application of rotational bending fatigue tests.
To test with the Raagen rotational bending fatigue testing machine, a sample is placed in the machine and a force is applied to the sample to create a bending moment on the material by fixing the sample at one or two points. So that, a variable bending stress is created on the cylindrical specimen and the specimen is expected to rupture as a result of fatigue.
Once the test is started, the sample can be rotated at the desired speed. So, each surface of the sample is exposed to alternating tensile and compressive stresses. The fatigue test continues until rupture is observed in the sample; at this point the controller displays the number of turns the sample took until it broke. Performing a series of tests on identical samples with different stresses allows the user to generate an S-N curve. Rotational bending fatigue tests can also be performed at temperatures ranging from -30°C to 1000°C', optionally using Raagen high temperature furnaces.
Features of Raagen Rotational Bending Fatigue Testing Machines
- Standard models with current capacity have a force capacity of 300N, 500N, 1000N, 3000N.
- The system can be configured according to user needs.
- It is fully automatic and controlled by computer software.
- Machine rotation and force application are made by means of precision servo motors. Standard models up to 3000 rpm are available, and fatigue systems are designed specifically for the project by Raagen engineers for systems that will operate at higher speeds.
- It has a compact table unit design that provides easy installation and easy use in laboratories.
- Grips that can be adjusted according to the samples, a sliding system that can be adjusted according to the sample lengths, and a transparent protective cover for safety are included in the basic package content of our standard devices.
Fatigue Testing Software
• The desired load can be adjusted via the software. Adjusted load remains constant according to user request.
• Position change depending on load; stress value, number of turns, stress section strength moment and moment values can be calculated automatically in the software.
• S-N graph of the experimental groups is given by the software.
• There is the possibility of linearity and calibration adjustment in two reference values in sensor calibers.
• More than one sensor can be connected to the program and the machine.
• The program can report in pdf, excel formats.
• Program graphics provide graphics such as force-turn number, force-time, sigma-turn number, W (bending stress)-turn number, or the user's desired graphic can be defined in accordance with sensors and formulas.
• The program's graphic screen is capable of moving and zooming to examine the graphic after the test is over.
Rotational bending fatigue testing machines can be designed according to user needs and test standards as standard type with single point force and "moore" type, where we fix from two points and load from two points.
